Women’s AFL Masters – Footy For FUN!
AFL Masters is football that allows mature players (over 33 for National Carnival) the opportunity to participate in our great game of Australian Rules Football and to compete with similarly aged players in a safe, well-organised and enjoyable atmosphere.
AFL Masters has identified Indigenous women as an ideal target market for participation in Masters AFL in local regions. It also happens to perfectly match the WA logo and board’s intention to attract Indigenous participation at the Perth carnival.
To assist in generating interest we have a survey link so that we can gain a better understanding of the needs of Indigenous Women Footballers and how we can encourage them to join in with Women’s AFL Masters. The survey link is https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DCXN6X2
The National AFL Masters Carnival, to be held in Perth, 27th Sept – 3rd Oct 2020.

Women’s AFL Masters is a great way to either:
• play for the first time in a competition that is more focused on fun and keeping fit for life; or
• continue playing football when the body starts struggling to recover from the rigors of Seniors football (open age 18+), but the mind isn’t ready to stop; or
• come out of retirement, you know you want to!
AFL Masters has a national standardised set of modified rules designed to reduce the risk of injury, and are acknowledged and supported by the AFL and the Australian Sports Commission.
Although a base level of fitness is an advantage, with 18 positions, which require varying levels of fitness, and a bench, there is a place for all body types and fitness levels, just getting started is the key to a fitter you, and why not have fun while you are at it!
Vic Metro AFL Masters have a Women’s team in the National Carnival and run a Women’s competition with clubs throughout the Metropolitan area playing alternate fortnights. Check this link for more information http://www.womensaflmasters.com.au/
